Jake Dickson is an attorney with Beard Kultgen Brophy Bostwick & Dickson, PLLC, whose practice focuses primarily on real estate, business transactions, finance, and corporate law. He advises clients on residential and commercial real estate matters, including purchases, sales, development, leasing, financing, construction, and the negotiation and drafting of transaction documents.
Jake also represents businesses in a wide range of corporate matters, such as entity formation, governance, mergers and acquisitions, and the purchase and sale of business interests. He assists clients throughout the entire transaction process, from planning and structuring through closing, and provides practical counsel aimed at achieving business objectives while managing risk.
Jake’s practice is strengthened by his background in accounting and real estate. Before entering the legal profession, Jake earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Accountancy from Baylor University. He began his career with KPMG LLP in Dallas, where he worked on financial and compliance matters and passed the CPA examination. He later received a Master of Real Estate from Texas A&M University, graduating at the top of his class.
Following his time at Texas A&M, Jake returned to Waco where he graduated magna cum laude from Baylor Law School with a Special Distinction in Business Planning. During law school, he served as a Technical Editor of the Baylor Law Review and received the Outstanding Achievement in Business Planning and Corporate Law Award. Jake also demonstrated strong negotiation and deal-making abilities while in law school, helping his transactional team achieve first place in negotiations at the Duke Law Transactional Competition. Immediately following graduation, Jake began serving as an adjunct professor at Baylor Law School, advising students on business law cases in Baylor Law’s Practice Court program.
Jake is a Waco native and is actively involved in the Central Texas community. He currently serves on the Lorena Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors and the Lorena TIRZ #1 East Board of Directors. He is also a graduate of Leadership Waco Class 41. Jake and his wife, Lauren, reside in Waco with their son.
